Having previously been a kickboxer, Lauren made the switch to Taekwondo after having watched Jade Jones become Olympic Champion at London 2012.

The Welsh-born teenager competed at junior level before she moved to join the GB Academy in Manchester.

Another Fighting Chance graduate, Lauren became Junior World Champion in 2014 and began fighting as a senior in 2016.

After only spending a few months as a senior, Lauren struck gold at the European Championships in Montreux. She was also selected as a reserve for the Olympic Games in Rio, before retaining her title as Junior World Champion later that year.

A force to be reckoned with, Lauren has since gone on to beat reigning World Champion, Ruth Gbagbi, at the 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Prix in London.
